INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE
This is an appeal to women of all ages and every culture, either alone or in a group, to contribute a square to a blanket of hope.
Each square is a free-style self-portrait.
The Living Blanket represents our identities, our lives, our hopes. Each square may be made using the materials or fabrics of your choice (no plastics please).
Each square should measure 25 cm x 25 cm finished size.
If the material you have chosen is fragile, the square can be doubled. The squares will be assembled together to form The Living Blanket.
Each square may be accompanied by a text.
This may be information about yourself, knowledge you want to share, a project you are working on, a poem or a story.
The Living Blanket will travel around the world.
Generating meetings and connecting a network of hope, it will help to inspire the creation of a world of justice and peace.
The Living Blanket has its own website.
Squares of the blanket will be organized on the website to allow navigation in many ways. The information you provide about your square, and even the colours you use, will be woven together to form a matrix of exchange and communication.

The Living Blanket is coming to Vancouver.
Originating in France, the Living Blanket will come to Vancouver in October 2008 to be launched on the Pacific Rim. Workshops and celebrations will take place at Centre A from October 24 - November 7.
