Legendary 'pataphysician and one of the world’s leading kiting experts, Patrick Ready travelled by foot in Afghanistan in the 1960s and recently returned to complete two terms with NATO setting up radio stations. Illustrated by an astonishing set of images of a not-so-everyday life in a not-so-post-Taliban world, Patrick will share his encounters with musicians, soldiers, shipping containers, children and yes, kites. Presented in the context of the exhibition, “Orientalism and Ephemera.”
